
ABOUT ME
Dr. Tzu-Hsuan Lin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Associate Vice President of General Affairs at National Central University (NCU) in Taiwan. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from National Chiao Tung University in 2011 and later pursued postdoctoral research as a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley, supported by a Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Dr. Lin’s expertise lies in cross-disciplinary research, particularly in applying AIoT, TinyML, and robotics to civil engineering problems. His work focuses on structural health monitoring, natural disaster detection, and the automation of construction processes through advanced robotics. Among his notable projects are the development of bio-inspired climbing robots for wall tile inspections and the integration of AI-powered systems for the detection of defects in civil structures.
He is a recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the Future Technology Award (2024) and the NCU Outstanding Teaching Awards (2021, 2023). His scholarly contributions are highly regarded, with publications in leading journals like Automation in Construction and Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Lin also actively mentors students, guiding them to success in national competitions and research projects.
As a dedicated academic leader, Dr. Lin continues to advance the frontiers of smart construction and infrastructure resilience.
