ABOUT ME
Dr. Tzu-Hsuan Lin holds the position of Associate Professor within the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Central University. His academic journey commenced with the acquisition of a Master of Engineering (MEng) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. His doctoral research presented an integrated wireless sensor network (WSN)-based system for structural health monitoring (SHM) applicable to both edifices and civil infrastructure. A hallmark of his work was the formulation of a comprehensive global-local-integrated approach to damage detection, which proved instrumental in the precise localization of structural impairments. Notably, during his pursuit of the Ph.D., Dr. Lin also embarked upon an additional Master's program in the Institute of Electrical Control Engineering at the same institution, enhancing his interdisciplinary proficiency. In an ardent pursuit of scholarly excellence, Dr. Lin undertook a five-year tenure as a researcher at Sinotech Engineering Consultant, a preeminent engineering consultancy company positioned among Taiwan's top three. Subsequently, he assumed the role of a Visiting Scholar Fellow at UC Berkeley in 2016, augmenting his experience and contributing to his scholarly repertoire. Dr. Lin's contemporary research endeavors are firmly rooted in the application domains of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), Tiny Machine Learning (tinyML), and Robotics, directed toward the automation of processes within the realms of construction and civil engineering. His erudition encompasses innovative techniques and paradigms, as he contributes substantially to the progression of these fields.
